Canon Powershot Pro70 SHUTTER LAG of 3 seconds?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I read twice about shutter lag of up to 3 seconds. Does this extreme shutter lag only appear in extreme situations? Which are these? Or does it occur often? Who can help? (If this disadvantage of Canon Pro70 is not too hard, I'd like to purchase one soon.) Thanx.

If used incorrectly.... yes, it might have a 3 second shutter lag. People that report this are probably using the camera wrong. If you press the shutter button half way and wait for the beep... then press the shutter button the rest of the way, the photo is taken VERY VERY VERY quickly. Similar to 35mm. Those who try to take the photo by pressing the shutter button down in one step will get shutter lag of a few second while the camera focuses.
