My 4 month old male Maine Coon kitty is growing long and lighter hair behind his shoulder blades. I swear it looks likes wings! This is not a joke question-does their fur grow at different lengths, or is this a beginning of his fur lengthening or something? Right now he looks like he has a beard on each shoulder!?

My one Maine Coon's fur grew at different rates, depending on where it was on his body. He is now 17 months old, and beginning to look super. I've noticed that just in the last few weeks, some formerly awkward-looking spots have begun to "fill in." He's on his way to being a gorgeous kitty. It just takes time.
