Where can I test out NikonView DX software that is bundled with the D1 Camera?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am interested in purchasing a Nikon D1 digital for my business, and have done a fair amount of research into the camera. However, I have been unable to fine any information, other than the name, regarding the NikonView DX software that is bundled with it for previewing and acquiring images. As this will greatly affect our workflow, I am trying to find out where I may preview this software before I make my purchase. Any ideas? Thank you.

Pierre, I hope your decision to buy the D1 or not does not pivot on the usefulness of NikonView DX. NikonView DX is a very marginal piece of software. The only real use I have found for it is viewing the EXIF information. It shows just about every bit of data related to the camera setup when a photo was taken. As a viewer it is just okay. You are going to want something like Photoshop for image manipulation. If you want to work with raw files (.nef), you will need a program such as Bibble or Qimage.
