Has anyone heard anything about this chap?

AJAX seem to have jumped ahead of Newcastle in their bid for Anderlecht star Bart Goor according to reports in the Dutch media. The 27-year-old left midfield player has already been in contact with new Ajax coach Co Adriaanse, the player revealed: "I've heard of Ajax's interest through my manager Fernand Goyvaerts.

"But I haven't talked to anyone at all. I haven't been in touch any English clubs (among others Newcastle) either.

"We've chosen not to do so ourselves. For the moment, the only thing that counts is winning the championship with Anderlecht."

Goor admits that although he is happy at Anderlecht he is also ready for a new challenge. He said: "I feel good at Anderlecht, but this month I'll be turning 27, so maybe it's time to start looking over the borders.

"I'm flattered by Ajax's interest. I'll just wait and see what happens. The only thing I know is that a couple of clubs are interest in me and asked for my transfer price with Anderlecht. The club is asking for 250 million Belgian Francs (#3.8 million)."

Goor moved from RC Genk to Anderlecht during the summer of 1997, for 55 million Belgian Francs (#825,000).

I've said it before, if we are going to go Dutch, then Wilfred Bouma from PSV is the man. He's a 22 year old left winger with a natural left foot and heaps of pace. He has played as a Left FB as well a a wing back and out & out winger. He is a v. good defender, yet is very good at getting forward. He has been the chief supplier of most of Ruud van Nistelrooys croses and even his coach has admitted that much of PSV's strategies is getting the ball out wide on the left to Bouma and letting him create for R.V.N. When R.V.N has been injured in the past Bouma has moved up front and is a good scorer. He scored on the weekend during PSV's 5-1 rout of AZ Alkmar, and I think he's the clubs third leading scorer behind R.V.N and Luc Nilis.
