Err Happy Borthday Pete and mesel for that matter

I am stuck here "bothying" int = fending for ones self, wor lass , daughter, son in law are down in "Gods Country" giving new grandson his first taste of "Geordism", I insisted this took place as soon as possible after the christening which was held last Sunday,so I am left looking after dog, cats , got it wrong somehow. With my birthday being Sat April 1st (yeah I know), I decided to go the full Monty on Friday Night, with the lads, had the monthly football meeting, booked the "Searchers" (#3,000) for our end of season presentation night and got tore into the whiskey. Cut a long story short, good night, woke up next morning, telephone ringing, made myself full Scots/English break- fast. Had to be there but unknown to me my daughter had rang up, told her mother not to tell me cos it was expensive , but she had ordered a plane with banner streaming "Happy Birthday Dad, 60 today" to make one pass over the house on the hill at 11.00hrs give or take 5 minutes. I was ordered outside in the drizzle by she who must be obeyed and told to look for a plane. My breakfast was put under the grill, still dodgy from night before I stood outside looking skywards like an oversized replica of that blerk in Fantasy Island, by this time I had been joined by the dog casting a canine eye skywards, It crossed my mind that I should get a deck chair out to get the full feel, wor lass by this time was being biggsy and was phoning up the neighbours to ask them to watch the fly-past for "Buffalos Borthday". 11.05 came, not a sausage (apart from my burnt breakfast), phone call from Aberdeen , daughter of mine, is Dad outside, has the plane been over yet, wife replys yes and no, daughter proceeds to ROTFLMAO, screaming hysterically April Fool. That folks is the first time I have been nobbled, must be getting senile . Still she did call later with my pressie, 2 kegs of Jarman Lager and a bar of Fruit and Nut.

naughty forty, nifty fifty, what goes with sixty?

Happy Birthday (belated) Buff.

A most excellent tale Buff. And a very happy borthday to your good self and Pete (even more belated). I am however just a tad worried about a man of your maturity "going the Full Monty" on the Friday neet with the lads. Has Mary Whitehouse been inundated with complaints of late from the Buffaloshire area ?

"what goes with sixty?"
Have I just come in or was I just on me way out?

In case I missed it, Buff's due a Happy Birthday for yesterday it would seem. All the best, even if you're no longer connected.

Panic attack. I hope I haven't mislead people by resurrecting this thread. I was just doing some archive trawling and saw that Buff had just had a birthday. The Pete in the title isn't me, but must be one of the other Pete's (you probably all know which one anyway, but in case you didn't). ie I wasn't angling for congrats myself. You can give me those on Cup Final day, which lands on my birthday this year ;-)
