Interesting little wee bit in the Journal this morning.
Bobby & the lads were in Beamish Open Museum the other day for a day out. Anyway, the journo covering this very interesting event says: "The town (Beamish) is set in the period just before the First World War", 1911 to be exact.
Now get this, in the 1911 season:
Toon beat Shef Wed 2-0 away, Lost 2-1 to the unmentionables at home before drawing away.
Played you guessed it - The Old Gits in the Semi. The score was, Oh! got to go see you later.

Hah! I knew there was a feel of Destiny about this season. Is this where Bobby Robson gets into a blazing row with Alan Shearer before revealing that he is, in fact, his father? Do they go on to work as a father-son combination to defeat the evil emperor Taggart and bring peace and prosperity to the galaxy?

I'm sure Galaxy would like that! Mind you, isn't Bournemouth the place for peace and prosperity anyway?

There are signs of euphoria creeping into the proceedings. Stop it now or you'll all be sorry. Mark my words. Doom and gloom rules. See the footnote on page 8417 of Principia Dougalia.

Softie

By that reckoning on the Star Wars / Toon Wars, Robson would have to drag NUFC to its knees, literally laying waste to all except one young protege, then killing Taggart before declaring himself a born again Toon Fan. Hmmmm...where's my lightsabre? Oh, there it is, beside my Darth Maul double-lightsabre - s**t, have I said too much? Back to the video then...ar**, done it again
