VLADIKAVKAZ, April 3 (Itar-Tass) -- A blast that went off in one of the schools located in the settlement of Chermen, North Ossetia, on Monday morning caused considerable damage to the school building but no fatalities or injuries to humans.

Sources in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the North Ossetia, Russia's southern republic, told Itar-Tass that the explosion had occurred in the school's chemistry lab at 03.00 Moscow time on Monday morning, and, according to preliminary data, it had been caused by a leak of natural gas in the building.

No version of terrorism is being considered by the investigators. Workers of the Ministry for Emergency Situations and law enforcement agents are now working at the site of the incident.
