Is there a real nurse?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I remember hearing a long time ago that one of the nurses on the show is not an actress but a real nurse who is there to make sure procedures are realistic. Does anyone know which nurse she is?

It is my understanding that most- not just one, of the background nurses (the ones who don't have any dialogue and are usually to the side of the camera setups) are real nurses. If they get any credit at all, it is probably in the show's closing credits. I heard this either on "Access..." or on a "Today Show" profile of ER. Hope this helps.

I've also heard that most of the background nurses are real nurses. They help to make sure the actors are holding the right tools, etc.
