The use of women in Edgar Allen Poe's works.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread

I have to write an "extended essay" on the works of E.A. Poe, and I have narrowed it down to his use of women as characters. Can anyone help me?? Any comments/information/ sites are greatly appreciated!

The women alllows the hero to be aware of the presence of two worlds. They are the only one to get through the invisible line and to come back.

+ sexual significance linked to the possession

i think the women poe writes about is the two women that he had loved in his life. well if you count his mother three. his mom, the crush of a woman, and the beautiful Virgina. he was in deep dark love not to mention the dark power he had because of the death he had suffered in his life. he easliy fell in love, mad love with writting about love and death becase of his life. he writes his feelings and what has might and will happen. he has def. inspired me.
