FYI...news about Kellie Martin

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

In case anyone is interested...I saw a question about Kellie Martin in a weekend insert in my local paper. It said that she was NOT planning on going back to school and was looking for her next acting assignment. They mentioned that it was ironic that the episode she was killed in was one of the most watched ER's, but that she wanted out because her character was going nowhere. It makes you wonder if she regrets leaving after all of the Lucy support there seems to be out there. She will be doing lots of publicity work for autoimmune diseases (her sister died of Lupus).

I think more people liked Lucy than Kellie Martin, and maybe even the writers, thought. A lot of the people I work with were talking about it and didn't want to see her die. I am surprised to hear that she is not going back to school but returning to act. Maybe she also just wanted to act near New York (by her husband) instead of in LA.

FYI, next month's "In Style" magazine (on sale at end of April) will have photos of Kellie Martin's wedding.

When Kellie was on Regis and Kathy Lee she said she felt that she never fit in with the cast of ER and she struggled with the medical terminology. This was right before her final episode of ER.

It's just too bad that she felt that she didn't fit in. :( It's horrible when that happens at anytime. But you've gotta do what you feel is right for youself. I'm gunna miss Kellie on ER, but as long as she's happy, so am I. (Still gunna miss Lucy tho) :)

i thought she would have wanted to go back and finish Yale University! Well anyway i think the way they killed Lucy off was very dramatic! i will really miss her, she was the person who made ER a good show to watch. i think she went because the other charaters were overpowering her, she wasnt getting much stories, which she should've got because she's a brill actress! at least the way she left was exciting and many people watched and saw her true acting skills. i also read the story about her sister and i find that really sad but its very touching the way Kellie Martin is doing so much to help with the disease! thanks Kellie i hope to see you on my screen very soon!
