Tourney 4 - Which MAME should we use?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

I'm hearing that it's highly unlikely there will be a MAME 36 TG released... I don't know if that's true or not... but let's be prepared.

Do you want to continue using MAME 35 TG 3 or move on to MAME 36 regardless of a TG version?

I say since that MAME 35 TG 3 has been severly hacked, we move on to MAME 36 Final.

I await your opinions...

Hopefully mark L. can throw together some code in 2 months! If he can't (he needs to tell us and) we need to find someone else to do the tg4 development and make sure the new person gives it to the hackers to test before it's released. New features should include: internal encrypted timestamping, forced use of AutoFrameskip when - record is used, better/cyclic encryption of the framerate info.

Definitley use tg4 if it's out but if the lack of mark time continues i'd say continue with tg3, there's almost 1000 unique games in m35 no clones and we've played 30. they'll be plently of tournaments to come where we can explore the newer games and wait for everyone's computers to get faster to play them better.

Let's re-evaluate this in 30 days. Now that the voting is extended and T4 won't start until June 1st, there's more time for Mark to crank out a new version. Let's hope he's still interested in TGMAME or passes his source code along...

If a TG4 version will never be made, keep TG3 !!!

The T3 has been so clean, with no cheating suspects, and with real good scores achieved.....pls....don't go back to the shame of suspects and polemics we had to assist in T2....
