what is a reasonable price for a photography course?

i am interested in photography and am thinking of taking up a photography course. However, i have no idea about where i might be able to take up a (beginner) photography course and how much should the course cost. I called up and asked one particular school...the question is -- is $270 for 11 (2-hour) lessons a reasonable price?

What sort of a course are they offering? $270 seems a reasonable price. Which school is this? Do you know who the instructors are? You could do a background check on them.

The Photographic Society of Singapore, established since 1950, conducts more than 9 different courses on photography. The Basic Photography course fee is $120 for its members for 10 lessons. Membership fee is $72 for 2 years, and members can use its gallery for exhibition, join its talks and seminars, outings and studio sessions, its facilities like darkroom as well as the once a week Friday evening photo clinic where members bring their works for the instructor for free comment and advise. website is www.pss1950.org
