[on a lighter note] We need a mouse improvement.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

We discuss a lot of serious questions. But here is one that is not so serious. The mouse

My home computer table is solid ash. It has worked well for years. Last week, I cleaned it; removed the debris from beer, soda and twinkies [the debris of the ages]. Now the mouse works bad.The surface is too even. Pads are a joke. I have tried the optical kind. They work but take up too much room.

There must be a better way of doing this. Do you know what it is? Suggggggestions?

Best wishes,,,,,

Save your mouse. Give up your diet. Eat more twinkies, drink more beer.

Z,

If you've got an extra $50.00 bucks laying around, you can't beat the new digital mouses. They never have to be cleaned, they work everywhere, (including on your leg if that's where you chose to point from) they have the scroll wheel on top, and they have buttons on the side that will do your "back" and "forward" for you.

I LOVE new technology! My fingers get sore from typing all day, and every little bit that those tech geeks develop, makes my life a whole lot easier.

Just clean the mouse. Turn the opening, take out the ball use a tooth pick, a qtip alcohol and clean the mess away.

ET:

My problem is not a dirty mouse or a dirty surface; It is a clean all of the above.

LL:

Got two supercharged G4's coming the first of April. Will give your suggestion a try.

Best wishes,,,,

Z1X4Y7, I wish I knew of a better mouse, but I don't. I do know of a better mouse PAD....I believe its made by 3M, its some kind of microsomthingorother surface, a hard "matte" like finish, not the like the soft woven pads at all. This thing really works great, and easy to clean. I used to have to clean the mouse rollers and ball weekly, now I might have to do it once every 6 months.

Z1X4Y7,

Supercharged G4's!!! You lucky dog!.

About the mouse situation,I am currently working on a new invention dealing with this dilemma, all I can tell ya right now is it is a "digital virtual mouse". This ain't your daddy's mouse but if proto's and design work correctly, problem solved.

This time take it out side, take good rock, trough it at the mouse until you smash it, make sure it is dead and then buy a new one, make sure you get the best this time.

"digital virtual mouse"

capnfun,

I'm so glad I came back to check my computer after I took my shower before bed.

I'm wet, with cold, long hair dripping down my back; so I'm in a hurry,.... would you please tell me what you meant by, "virtual mouse" soon please? [Like,...... before I catch pneumonia?].)

Many "virtual" thanks,
