Mpeg quality good on Computer, boxy when transf to VCD, players wont read end result.

I have a decent quality mpeg recording, and a 733mhz pentium 3 with 256mb ram. When I play the mpeg on my computer its quality is great, and all of the players I have available work well. Using NTI CD Maker Pro 3 I transfered the mpeg to a CD-R. The recording goes fine with no errors. Once finished, It will not play on any of my computers players, and, when I play it on my console DVD player, the video is all large boxes, and only plays for a couple of seconds, and then the video disapears. Any help would be appreciated

Have you tried it in a slow reader?

I've got a 32x and a 40x that can't read VCD, but the same discs play fine in my old 8x.
