....but can I have another soap box rant.

Now all of you who know me will atest to the fact that I don't like violence, but can I ask if someone can be given a bloody good slap.

Having worked my way through all the papers today, I eventually arrived at the comic (Sun) and in the sports section they are again going on about the punch up up the end of the rugby at the McAlpine Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

To illustrate the problem, if further illustration was needed, they printed a photo of a guy being pulled in by the old bill. Now I don't know if he had done anything wrong, but the photo was there plain to see and to make a point, but when you actually looked at it properly, this tosser had a Toom B&W strip under his jacket. I though, nah....lots of B&W particularly in Rugby, but when you look closer you can see the Broon Ale lable through the front opening of the jacket.

Someone was looking at this over my shoulder and passed the comment, "your lot having a punch up again" - well when I came down off the ceiling, I couldn't believe that through no fault of our own, we are potentially being dragged into yet another gutter.

Now as I say, I don't like violence, well not a lot anyway, but if anyone else see's this photo and knows who the tosser is, can you give him a quiet slap on behalf of us all......as he is supposedly a Hull supporter, it may be down to you to do it Jay, but it would be in a very good cause.

Rant over....soapbox away again.

Thank you for listening.

I saw that too and hoped that no one else noticed it. There was no mention of the toonshirt in the article, so we may have got away with it.

Just what we need - let`s hope the press don`t start analysing it too much! By the time they`ve finished with it, they will have lost the point that it was rugby and not football!

After I posted this last night, I kicked around a couple of the other boards, and when I dropped in to read the RTG....(I can only read these days as I am blocked out)they were going on about it, and typically making further references to the incident in the Bigg Market last May.

They can only sing on bliddy song on RTG, but you can bet your bottom dollar the stupid kids will keep the issue going as long as they can.

Lets hope the 'serious' people see it for what it is.......

I watched that incident live on TV last sunday on BBC 2. They kept giving close ups of the said loony with the toon top under his coat and even seemed to be concentrating on him, more than the hundreds of other 'egg chasing' yobs running amock across the pitch.

From what I saw the police dealt with the problem eventually but there was one kid in particular (he looked a right little charver) who was having a right go at trying to pull the posts down and he didnt look like he had even finished school yet!!!! What will he be like in a few years?.......hope they ID the lot of them and ban them from all grounds, not just rugby ones.

In conclusion it was a disgrace to british sport and a reminder of the bad old days of pitch invasions and football stadia incidents!
