Sony appears to have phased out the DSC-F505. Do they have a similar model waiting in the wings? Have there been any annoucements of new models with features like the F505?

nothing. Looks like sony has abandoned the beauty 5x lens on this thing, maybe betting that consumers aren't willing to pay more for it.

I'm thrilled with mine, good luck finding one though, the supply is almost gone on these, and sony won't make more

I am suprised that they would discontinue the 505. They may be betting their money on the new Mavica cameras with the memory stick adapters.
