Just out of interest........

.....I heard the Toon fans singing about unemployment on Merseyside at the Everton game. Do you have a lot of Cockney supporters, or are there untold opportunities up there that I don't know about??

You really want a response?

Football fans generally sing what they think will wind the opposition up most.....

Just trying to get a rise out of y'all, I'm certain you'd do it to us if we could ever hear ya sing :)))

DD

I was at Anfield with a mate earlier this season, in the Kop end. I was pretty keyed up, expecting roars of Gallowgatesque proportions.

Not so. I have to say it's not the same in the Gallowgate any more either.

Flatly, sitting down takes the atmosphere out of it.

The stadia may be lovely to look at and sit in but it's almost impossible to recreate the atmosphere we used to get.

Maybe we're all singing as loudly as ever, it's just the stands are so much bigger......

Ner, hate to say it but the Stretty is more famous. The Kop was a letdown on Saturday - reminded me of the Holte End more than anything. I'm told the Centenary stand is where it happens nowadays.

Whatever happened to freddie Fletcher proposition 24? "We will be moving some of the fans and one of the things that we will try to accomodate is a singing section in the new stand". have they given up on that one? why can't they change the bloody rules to allow a small amount of terracing at the front of each ground (say in the current Family Enclose at Newcastle), in which a certain amount of punters can buy a season standing ticket. That would surely not be unsafe? You could stand with yer mates, and It would give the grounds a better atmosphere, and get a few more fans into the grounds like Newcastle's that are packed to capacity. Any one fancy starting a petition?

DD, I was sat in the row behind you on Saturday - you've got to admit the Kop wasn't up to much throughout the game. I was a bit disappointed - I'd expected a bit of banter between the 2 sets of fans.

We are talking about the Kop at Elland Road right DD?
