Now that all the dust has settled and the Oscars have been handed out, I'm wondering how we all fared with our predictions. I voted at the aus.films newsgroup and wound up winning the competition, scored 63% (and won two double passes to the Dendy cinema). How did everyone else go?

Pretty well. I only missed four awards. Score (should have gone with my instincts, I was swayed by EW), Costume, Make-up and Song. Unfortunatly the only contest I entered was the one I organized, and I didn't think it was fair to win my own prize. Maybe next year.

I actually did pretty well, although I was surprised that Matrix did so strongly against Star Wars...I had hoped, but I didn't think it would happen.

My big disappointment was Denzel Washington. Whether or not the screeplay had problems doesn't diminish his performance. The man was flat amazing and still my vote as the best of the year.

I should correct my opening statement. Turns out the fellow who was co-ordinating the competition actually had me confused with one of the other posters to the newsgroup (wonder what made him think I or he would post under two different names). So I have, in fact, won nothing whatsoever. That's the last time I'LL be hanging out at that fucking newsgroup
