Vcd software

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I am a bit confused about what software is the best, Adaptec or WinOnCd. I have heard of advanced features of winoncd pe, but when i tried making a photoalbum i couldn't play it on my vcd player, I have used Adpatec which is ok, for Vcd as well as normal data saving. But I want to keep the best one. and use it nicely. Can anyone suggest. Also videopack 4, it seems to not recognize my cd writer.

thanks

Only the latest version 3.7 of WinOnCD Power Edition has the facilities to make the photoalbum VCD, and you may well be successful if you follow the instructions to the letter. VideoPack 4 only works with SCSI CD writers, never IDE. If you will create further VCDs in the future for whatever reason I strongly suggest using ONLY a SCSI CD writer. IDE CD writers are only for those in this biz on a lark. In fact this may be why Easy CD is so buggy: Adaptec is a SCSI company and makes a big percentage of its sales from SCSI cards; to be reduced to writing software for IDE compatibility was probably more than it could take and so made the lot buggy to spite.
