Nikon Prone 600i v Coolpix 990

I have a Nikon APS Pronea 600i. I currently scan in my images via a Minolta Scan Dual (after they've been processed!)

Would I gain or lose, picture quality-wise, by moving over to Coolpix 990?

I just hate cleaning up my images that I scan, and the scratches/dust-spots/water-spots are such a pain to remove...

You cant compare traditional film with digital. In my opinion with pixel count reaching above 3million these days, the quality will be amazing. The ease of use is another factor. Right now you are taking a picture, developing, scanning, and then finally some digital imaging on the computer. That is 4 steps just to do what the Nikon 990 can do in one. Also you have to factor in the cost of film and developing. I say get into the millenium and buy the 990. You wont be sorry.
