Gas prices; haven't heard much lately. If the present trend here continues, it looks like CPR will be right again.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

In the last week and a half the price of unleaded regular has dropped from the mid $1.50's to the lower $1.30's. Now that is not low. On 2 Jan 00, it was $1.06. But if the trend holds, CPR was right. I am not talking about his latest posts debunking the Y2K strawman [few people here believe that; sort of preaching to the converted]. I am talking about earlier posts, either here, or on Biffy.

Of course the prices have been bouncing around like the DOW. We will have to wait and see. What's your experience where you live. Better leave now. We have two tornadoes and the possibility of a fried modem in my future.

Best wishe

Well it's still $1.69 for unleaded regular (87) octane in Northern AZ, and higher in the SF Bay area. Who's getting it for $1.30 and where?

I saw $2.57/gal in pebble beach,CA today, is that high?

We're paying $1.35 gal for unleaded regular in Indiana. We were up as high as $1.55 2 weeks ago.

Florida: $1.64 for the medium. Price has stablized here for a week. Higher than a cat's back, from whence it originally crept. Still "Big as Life, and Twice as Ugly", for those souls whose livelihood has to factor in fuel costs.

Twin cities: $149, down from $155. As low as $1.38 if you shop around.

Yankton, SD---1.49 (was 1.56 last week)

Sioux Falls, SD---1.41 (mini gas war going on)

NW Piedmont of No.Carolina: $1.45 for lowest octane at the independents. Price is steady for last few weeks--no ups, no downs.

Hmmm.... Diesel is at $1.75 per here on the S. Oregon coast. No Idea of what gas is as I don't buy it. Gas is way over $2.00 just a few miles South of me in California... and going up...

Sorry creeper.... not here :-)

Fuel prices have just started dropping here in the last week. Down 2c a litre (8c per gallon) so far, and expected to drop further.

Unfortunately, gas in the north San Francisco Bay area remains high. Regular is $1.78 at the cheapest and about $1.85 average. Premium has been over $2.00 for several weeks. I guess that's part of the price we pay for not having to shovel snow :^)

Central Texas: $1.33 best for Diesel(Mobil in Palmer @ I45), $1.38 for Reg Unleaded (Diamond Shamrock in Mexia).

-- Possible Impact (posim@hotmail.com), March 27, 2000.

Jim,

Are you referring to Marin, Sonoma, or Solano county (or all of the above)?

-- Flash (flash@flash.hq), March 28, 2000.

The "reformulated" gas that many cities must use in the winter under E.P.A. rules costs more to produce than regular gas. It's now spring and these cities don't have to use this "reformulated" product and more.

Thus the lower prices reflected at the pump.
