Argentinian midfielder Lucas Cominelli has been sent back to Newcastle after Carlisle decided not to take him on loan until the end of the season.

Cominelli played for the reserves in midweek but manager Martin Wilkinson felt that his style of play was not what the Cumbrians needed to drag themselves out of trouble at the foot of the Football League.

Wilkinson said: "Cominelli is excellent on the ball, and it's strange to say this, but at a higher level he could be a really good player."

"I feel, though, at this stage, that we've got to have players who can fight to get us out of this mess we're in."

He added: "We need hard grafters who can win the ball, and I believe we've already got those players now in the squad."

Is this a euphemism for: we are going down to the Conference and we don't want to any import Argie to stop us!

Did we force them to take him....or did they come to us and ask for him......if the latter, did Wilkinson not realise he had players who 'can fight to get us out of this mess' already on his books, if he did, why didn't he use them before and they wouldn't be in the mess now.....doh....I don't understand some people.

Got to feel sorry for the chairman of Carlisle, 10 years ago he was on the virge of buying Man U for #20 million,(now worth a billion?) and now his clubs on the virge of extinction, and worth nowt...

I hope your tongue was very firmly in your cheek for that one Rik.... no one, but no one can ever feel sorry for Knoighton surely....the man is a complete and utter tosser, with a 'tash that is well and truely fixed in the sixties....he looks like a cross between Jason King and the drunken Irishman in Coronation Street....tell me this an' tell me n'more.....

I work with a Carlisle supporter who throws up every time Knighton's name is mentioned....bit like we did when McKeag was in charge and befor him Westwood.

Bottled it with MANU, saw a spaceship and decided to run Carlisle FC as a business - he is making more money than clubs divisions above him. He is now growing his third set of teeth and wants to be known as Gonzel. The Manu thing is still funniest tho'.
