An Important Thought

greenspun.com : LUSENET : UR General Chemistry : One Thread

I have read all of the comments on this bulletin conerning the date of exam 3. I noticed how everyone is complaining about the chem test being ont he same date as the bio test. I also understand how everyone is all stressed out. Now, the thing I don't understand is, why is everyone complaining to Dr. Schroeder about changing the chem test date? How come no one is complaining to Dr. Sajdak to change the bio test date? Now, think about it, isn't this a little unfair to Dr. Schroeder?? Well, I jsut wanted to state that it's not right to complain to only one teacher. So either bring this issue to Dr. Sajdak also, or stop complaining! Thank you!

I know this is a dead issue sincethe exams will both be on the same day. But I thought it might be of interest to explain something to "A Student". THe people in Bio 111 are a very different composition since not as many people in it have a conflict with Chem 104. Therefore, it actually does not make sense to have brought it up to Sadjak. However, almost all Chem 104 students take Bio 111 concurrently and therefore have the conflict. Just thought i would share.

I understand completely what Student#2 is saying. Now let me ask you this, are there more people in bio111 or chem104?? Of course chem 104, right? Now, if most of the people in chem104 is taking bio111 (like student#2 said), then wouldn't most of the people in bio111 also be in chem104??? Therefore, I must say, there are at least a equal amount of people in bio taking the chem test and the people in chem taking the bio test. I'm sure most of the people in bio111 are also in chem104. So it is only right to bring this issue up to both professors. Thank you!

Just one more thing concerning Student2's comments...if what student2 is saying is that there are more people in chem taking bio then there are in bio taking chem, then I would say this issue of changing the test date is no issue at all..I mean, the bio class is not that big and if not that many people are taking bio and chem together, then there must not be too many people taking both courses. So this is not a big issue, since not many are affected.....now, I myself is taking both bio and chem, and from what I know, having the 2 tests on the same day affects many many people...in fact, most of the people in bio are also taking chem. So I must say, student2's comment is false. Thank you!

Don't even bother going to Prof. Sajdak about changing the Bio test date--she won't care AT ALL about conflicts, trust me.

A comment to "yet another student".....exactly! Sajdak probably won't even CARE! about changing the test date. And here we are, complaining about Dr. Schroeder all the time, even though he is willing to change the test date. I mean, this is truly unfair to Dr. Schroeder, would you say? Thank you!

It is true that we are only complaining to Dr. Schroeder about changing the test date and not Dr. Sajdak. But to change the Chem test date is a lot easier than changing the date of the Bio test. The Bio exam is not held during class or even in the same room, and therefore, preparations must be made in advance to reserve the room. The Chemistry test, however, falls on the same day and time as a regular Chemistry class. Thus, to move the Chemistry test to a different date would probably be easier. Just a thought.
