While Dan has been struggling with a sprained ankle, it could be worse...(translated from the Swedish O' Federation home page).

World Champions Smashed His Knee. Five-time World Champ Petter Thoresen, Norway, has a serious knee injury. A snowboard crash in Saelenfjaellen might mean the end of his career.

Thoresen had already said his career as an international elite (meaning World Cup and World Championships) was over last year. But he had intended to continue to run for Halden in big relays and so on. His knee was apparently totally ruined and it's not sure it'll ever be any good again.

Yep, just as I've been saying all along, you blow out a knee and you might as well kiss your career goodbye. Unless, of course, you're lucky enough to meet with the services of Dr. Rosenblum. Had Thoresen been an OKer he might have had a second chance.

Sure gotta wonder just what he was doing on the snowboard. When recently skiing, I saw lots of people snowboarding without difficulties (of course this was on the green slopes...) It sure seemed like something I could learn. In fact, Mike and I could learn together at Snow Creek! Mike??
