Club United spares - what's all that aboot then ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

About ten days ago I sent a mail to membership@nufc.co.uk, asking for clarification of one of the 'perks' of Club United membership. I've yet to get a reply, so maybe one of you guys knows the answer(s). For the sake of Speed and 'cause I'm off for me lunch now I've just cut and pasted the high points of my original mail below...

I'm a current (non-season ticket holding) member of Club United and joined primarily because of the opportunity to "purchase available spare tickets before they go on general sale". However, recent experience has led me to question how often this works in practice, and indeed, how it works at all. As soon as the FAC semi tickets went on sale, I phoned the box office to ask about availability to Club United members, and was told that there would be NONE. Also, for the upcoming Liverpool game, I phoned after the season ticket holders deadline, and was told all tickets had gone.

Is there a window or timeframe within which Club United members have to contact the ticket office about availability, and if so, when is this ? When the tickets first go on sale ? or after the season ticket holders deadline ?, although doesn't the latter suggest that they are already available to the public ?

Aye, there is a timeframe for 'Club United' ticket availability - 2 are available between 2.00 and 2.30pm every other Tuesday round the back of the club shop...during every Leap Year

Bobby, They have changed the criteria by which the Club United tickets are made available, did they not tell you....the two tickets are now available between 2.00 and 2.01 every other Tuesday round the back of the club shop...during every Leap Year, but not in months with an 'R' in them
