Hi, I just bought a scanner off a friend of mine. I have the scanner hooked up and ready to go.. I went to install the software needed.. Well the disc I got was in a plastic bag sandwich bag. And when I tried to install the software, it asks for a serial number. The serial number is on the disc cover, which I don't have..neither does my friend. Does anyone know of a way to get the software serial number? I tried to call the numbers on the papers, and all I get is a fax number response. The scanner I have is model# FB745.. Please if you know of a way I can get the serial number, let me know, thanks!

Doubt you'll get much help until you tell us the BRAND of scanner you have, not just the model number.

You obviously have access to Internet or you wouldn't have been able to post this note. Have you tried going to the scanner's manufacturer's websight. If nothing else you may be able to download the twain driver for their scanner. There is lots of good shareware and freeware software that you can download to view or manipulate your scanned images once you have the driver installed.

April, I saw your other post, but I'm afraid I'm not familiar with your scanner, but the software for mine utilizes the actual scanner serial number. Have you tried that? My scanner's serial number is located on the back panel and I imagine that so would yours. I would give this a try. Failing that I would also recommend a shareware search. Fred
