I thought Lazio were terrific last night: a pleasure to watch their touch, control and passing - apart from Veron, who curiously was completely out-of-touch.

Against an impressive Lazio, Chewsee just didn't have the bite in midfield, especially without the Poison Dwarf. I feel that's where we need to focus - we simply have to out-battle them in midfield and stop the flow of possession to Zola and Flo (flow to Flo??). If we can do that, AS and DF will definitely cause problems to Desailly and L'Opinion. Nee bother, man!

We don't need to fear Chewsee. Let them fear us. Shearer, Ferguson, Dyer, Domi, Barton, Lee, Gallacher - all can cause a lot of chaos. I don't think Vialli will take them lightly. Not that I'd fear Villa either. We can beat anybody on this country on the right day. Trust YBR to fix it.

Interesting to read Clarky`s opinion of Lazio, early on in the year I posted the praises of Valencia who at the time were not going at all well, I enjoyed the way they approached the game and felt they were a better team than results showed, Mendetta who did not play the other night is a superb player and capt while Ile, Lopez and Killy Gonzalez are alldangerous, Auld Angloma is still turning it on, I thought months ago they were a good outside bet, nothing has changed

Ah but that the problem we'll face. Wise, Zola, and Poyet. For me Lee and Speed should be able to keep Wise and if he plays Morris in check.

However what concerns me is how to contain Zola and Poyet. Zola plays a very similar role for chelsea as what Gallarcher does for NUFC. The difference being that Gallacher links two strikers and the midfield, while Zola only links up with one striker, effectively giving Chelsea a five man midfield.

And Poyet is going to have to be man marked as He is the player who so often remains unchallenged while Zola is zipping around in the midfield. Poyet is their second highest scorer and really has to be contained in the centre of the field as he has one of the best long distance shots and loves balls on the volley or half volley.

Maybe the man ot man role the Hughes enjoys has to move from being on Zola, to being on Poyet. Zola isn't playing as well as he has in the past so if Poyet is the man lets use our limpet mine on him

I was delighted go get C in the semi, because they are equal to us we should not be afraid. In the last two finals we have played much better teams - arse were better than the treble team imo. So I think it will be close and tactical, we have the squad, we are sound tactically, it is we who should be feared. Don't underestimate the fact that we have been shat on the last twice either, this will stand in our favour. Team and club moral is better. We can get to 6th in the table therefore something to play for. Finish above the fruit of the Divil's loins - important. Two magpies are building a nest down by the river at the bottom of the street, honest. We can win the final, we can win the final. Oh shit work - remember quickly.
