Are you a big klutz?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Jan : One Thread

Do your friends cringe when you walk into a room? Do they secretly wish you would drink from sippie cups to avoid spilling stuff everywhere? Do you walk into walls? Come on, tell me I'm not the only one.

I'm not as dangerous as you are, Jan.. but I have my moments.. when I was seventeen I fell off of a diving board and sprained my ankle. How I fell off of a diving board onto cement is worth questioning.. don't look here, to this day I can't figure it out. I impale myself on paperclips constantly, I drive into things with my car alot.. and yet.. I don't view myself as a klutz. More as, challenged. Yes, that's it.. I'm grace-challenged.

I think I may have you beat, Jan. Or at least tied. Because I managed to break my foot. By walking down my hall. Barefoot. On carpet. No, I did not trip. I was not running. Stepped sideways and snapped a metatarsal. Got to go the emergency room and get a spiffy ski-boot contraption and everything!

One friend's first comment when I told her was 'I've been expeccting you to do that for years'.

I routinely run into furniture that has been there forever. I just moved a rather large wooden blanket chest into my bedroom. The comments from my friends were not on how lovely it looks when I proudly showed it off but 'You're going to run into that on a daily basis, you know.'

Sigh.

In my next life I want to be graceful. Please?

Impressive! Although it still doesn't beat my umbrella story. I don't have time to recount the whole thing right now, but I promise I'll mention it in an upcoming entry.

In the meantime, you just let your little brains pore over that one -- "Umbrella story.. my God, she can't mean---"

Muahahahaha.

Hi, Jan, and all :)

Well, I'm klutzy as all get-out, though I get better (mostly) every year, with some exceptions. I usually manage not to permanently damage any body parts, though. Some of my favorite incidents: - falling on the kitchen floor after mopping a few months ago - seeing a bleeding or bruised area on my body and wondering when I did that (this happens to me all the time) - running into a school bus w/ my car in HS (the all-time fav)
