Most of you probably don't have any clue why I call my trolls out and irritate them intentionally. I thought maybe I'd better explain so that you don't think I'm a complete lunatic :o)

As an undergraduate I wrote several papers on verbal and nonverbal deception, and I've been putting that knowledge to work with my trolls. The truth is, it's been fun! (And some people say a fine arts degree is a waste :o)

The only way you can learn anything about something is to get people to talk. If someone doesn't talk, you can't analyze and decipher what's going on. Some of you may have noticed that you can tell who a poster is simply by the words they use, their emphasis on certain philosophies, or their temperament. It's only when they write (in this venue) that I can decipher who's who.

OTFR was right, I had three trolls (probably more now) and I really wanted to know who they were so I've done everything I could to get them to react to me. I think I've done a pretty good job, because now I'm confident I know who all but one is. (Mr Polly isn't a troll, he's just an unfortunate casualty of time, space, and philosophies.)

I'm sorry the decent people of this forum had to hear me tell them to FO, but if that's the worst thing you read on the internet you're doing better than me. Besides, by now all of you know you can scroll past my posts that irritate you, and it won't offend me (It's really hard to offend me anyway :o)

At any rate, I've learned a LOT from my trolls. The personal lessons they've taught me are invaluable, and the internet skills I've learned I'll take to the bank. In a sense, they've done me a lot of good. They've kept me jumping instead of discussing sex, religion, and politics.

I was in a hurry when I wrote that this morning. It's difficult to say everything I want to say, say it correctly, and say it to on average 11 people a day online.

What I meant was a liberal arts degree. In case you're questioning if I manufactured my degree in my imagination, I can assure you I didn't. Part of the trouble I'm having with one of my trolls is because I've mentioned my degree in the past. One of my trolls knows I graduated summa cum laude so he uses that information to try to humiliate me. When he does that it always kinda gives me a chuckle because you can't take away someone's history. I have my papers, I have my name in the National Dean's List, I belong to several Honor Societies, and there's nothing he can do to diminish my accomplishments. However, I think it angers him whenever I tell someone that, so I'm expecting another round of, "You're stupid!" after this. That's Ok, I kinda see how it's similar to Steve Heller posting his resume.

Oh, well. I've quit buying asbestos clothes because I have asbestos skin now!

(By the way, when I went to supper with my mom yesterday, I told her you said, "Bless your cotton sox" to someone. We both cracked up because we haven't heard anyone say that in at least 20 years.)

Free speech is one thing, and mental illness is another, and yes people can tell the differance. I did not and do not stand firmly behind the actions of Diane or Ed either. I can not bring myself to post on the new board that smacks of moral dictatorship. The only reason I ever posted here was because of a group of wonderful people who shared concerns and jokes and good wishes. Even the fighting was funny any friendly at times. I remember what touched off this "mission" of your's so you don't have to plead your case. Why does one go to a chocolate lover's party if they hate chocolate, LL? This board could even better than it was, and you could be just another poster with something useful to say. But you have taken this to be your "kingdom" and take such immense joy in calling out your "trolls". What a pitiable legacy. So very sad to see things go this way, and that there are actually those who would back you in your infantile tirade. EXCUSE ME but didn't you learn anything from the collapse of Yourdon's EZ forum that was based on the censorhip and propaganda that LL exposed and then blasted?

She destroyed the former board that was run for the benefit of E. Yourdon and sales of his books by shills and vendors of products they overpriced then oversold based on *bull shit* about a coming disaster that never happened.

That board caused pain and grief because of the lies and propaganda brainwashing that some still suffer from.

The CENSORSHIP, FLAMING and BANNING of people who tried to inform those who were taken in by this scam was *ended by LL* and forced Yourdon to set up a new board even more exclusive.

He must have known very well since he graduated from MIT, that MIT would not tolerate ONE SIDED UN-EVEN CENSORSHIP and that the forum was getting too much attention from the Computer trade magazines and even the general press.

If that person was looking for reliable "information" at TimeBomb, she was in a world of hurt. One of the two reasons I pounded TB was to stop the flow of mis/b>/b>information there. (I think I even wrote that back at DeBunker's somewhere, but I don't want to go look it up now.)

I honestly hope this place turns into that kind of place someday. I'm sure if you're patient, and hang around a play for awhile, it will help turn this place into a civilized country rather than the Wild West. At least YOU have the ability to vocalize an argument in a relatively civil manner.
