The fire started when a 32-car train carrying thousands of gallons of diesel fuel derailed and burst into flames.
The train derailed Monday (3/20/2000), sending five of 32 cars hurtling off the tracks. That in turn triggered several spectacular explosions. It took fire crews more than four hours to get the fire under control.
