Im trying to transfer my .asf movies to .avi at VirtualDub, but i can't ever manage to open my .asf file on VirtualDub, because everytime i try, it displays: X VirtualDub Error - Couldn't locate decompressor for format "MP42" (Microsoft High-Speed MPEG-4-V2) ! Pls help me and tell me what to do ASAP. If i need a decompressor, also pls tell me where i can download it. Appreciate much at the help i can get! Thanks.

As I can understand, you do not have the decoder used on the ASF file you are trying to convert. So, you need to install that codec/decoder. There are two ways to get it.

1) Install the lastest Microsoft Media Player on your system. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/default.asp

2) Install the Microsoft Media Tools which let you convert AVIs to ASF files. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/en/default.asp

3) Take a look at Codec Zone. http://codeczone.home.att.net/frames.htm
