lip-sync problems

Hi, i have a technical question for you about video cd:

I have a Pioneer dvd stand alone player(model 717-k) and a stand alone vcd player made by Nintaus (a chinese company). I'm having problems with lip-sync on some video cds.Me and a friend of mine are very fond of japanese animation and my friend transfers many vhs tapes to video cd.He always use his own vhs tapes(recorded from tv) or original anime vhs(bought in the shops). He has a broadway-pro video card to make video cds.We found a rare japanese animation tv serie in very good condition on vhs.The owner of these vhs has given them to my friend to make video cds. When i watch these video cds(made from the owner's vhs tapes) on my Pioneer dvd player the motion is not so smooth and the video is late. There's a difference of one second, one second and half in lip-sync and that's very boring because first you hear the audio and then one second late you see the movement of characters' lips. The same thing happens of the vcd player but here the motion is perfectly smooth. The strange thing is that this happens from the half of each episode on the vcd.The first half is perfect but when the timer reaches the second half this kind of problem shows up. The video cds made from original or from personal tapes of my friend never had any kind of problem. What's the reason of this???Could it depend from the tracking setting on the vhs player of my friend?? Could it be the fact that these videotapes were recorded with a different vhs recorder?? Have you ever heard of this kind of problem??

My friend uses Adaptec Easy creator deluxe 4.0 to burn video cds. He first makes the avi file then he compress it in vcd format. He has scsi hard-disks.

Let me know. Thanks for your time.

ciao
