NIKON: CF memory limitations of 990.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

What is the size limitations of the 990 CF memory. Can cards greater than 96MB be used? Can the 990 use the new 8x Lexar cards? If faster cards become available down the road will they be usable?

Lexar and SanDisk have been tested and approved. You will be able to use the largest available from either. We will ship with an 8x (I believe) with the 990. Also, I did use a 160 MB 10x pro Lexar Media card with the prototype 990-so that is a good sign...

There are few size limitations on what this year's digicams can handle in terms of Compact Flash card capacity. I don't think there'll be much of an issue until the capacities go over 2000 megabytes.
