Casio Qv2000 ux - USB to Computer don't work with batteries

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

My new casio Qv2000 ux cannot transfer Thru USB to computer when when using batteries. Casio says not enough power and have to buy adapter.Does this make sense? Anyone have this problem? I ordered adapter but seems cheap for casio to sell camera w/o an adapter that's required for it to transfer pictures. Phil

I have the 2000UX and have transferred thousands of images without an AC adapter and never had a problem. I think it is just Casio being careful. Low batteries might cause a problem and corrupt images on the card.

Actually, I did just get an AC Adapter from www.outpost.com. They have a beautiful, tiny unit (6 oz) that accepts 100-240 volts AC. Just $19.95. including overnight delivery.
