And today's transfer rumour entry comes from the Mirror who claim Bobby will be after Ronald DeBoer and Hakan Sukur in the summer. DeBoer is valued at 6mil pounds, and Sukur at 9mil, though supposedly Galatasaray will consider a part exchange. Might be a good chance to offload Maric, Perez and our other unsellables. Or maybe not. ;-)

Sunday Sun

The S/Sun also highlights BR's interest in Ronald de Boer at #6mm. They say Bobby has added to de Boer to his summer hit list that already includes Guardiola of Barcelona and Dacourt of Lens (but not necessarily all three, of course).

They say that the Toon face competition for de Boer from Feyenoord, who are hoping to raise much of the #6mm fee by selling Paul Bosvelt to the Toon!

The Sun further suggests that BR would like to sign both Sergi and Luis Enrique from Barca, but add that he realises his budget won't stretch that far.

They add some further information relating to Fenerbahce's supposed interest in 'Yin. They indicate that the Turkish club have actually prepared a 13 striker hit-list that includes not only DF, but also Kevin Campbell, Gianfranco Zola, and the Munchkin. Guess we can consign that story to the 'old rumours e-bin'.

Just how many players does Robson want to sign? I thought he said four players, a CH, two midfielders, and a striker. What's got me puzzled are the links to the midfielders. I thought we needed cover for Speed and Lee or a starting defensive midfielder, and a left winger. Well none of the names mentioned are left wing players, and apart from Dacourt, the midfield players are all attacking players.

Also, does anyone think Carl Cort is undervalued at 5 to 6 million pounds? If there is a chance of him leaving the Dons in the summer for around that price should we not try and get him as our third striker. He could play either role up front that Shearer and Ferguson currntly play.

I think 5-6million for Cort is VASTLY OVER-INFLATED!!

What's he done? how many goals has he ever scored?

He doesn't look a potential world beater to me....mind you if no goals Heskey can go for 11million then I suppose 5-6 for a player who also can't score is about right....

That probably rates Shearer somewhere in the 50million bracket doesn't it?

Carl Cort in a B&W shirt would suffer exactly the same as Shearer and Big Yin. He needs supply. Although I agree we need another top class striker (Cort???) we need supply from the wings.

I worry sometimes that Bobby is over-relying on the physical presence approach up front. It's nothing more than that (a nagging worry) , but I would like to see us with the option to inject some real pace into the attack, otherwise we'll become too predictable.
