Canon BJC-8200

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Anyone using this printer? What's your experience? Running cost, quality on plain & photo quality inkjet paper? I know it is very good using Canon's special glossy paper. No dots! Right? How about Vs Epson's 870

Thanks

Al, I have not seen the 8200. However, I just read a review in Computer Shopper. They said it has replaced their long standing favorite, the Epson 750. It must be good if it is better than the Epson.

I think you'll find that the Epson 870 fits your need better than the BJC-8200 or the Epson 750. Canon prints fade quite rapidly and while I haven't used the 8200, the 6100 was a total disappointment for photos. The Epson 870 has amazing output, a better variety of available media, and fade resistant inks. I didn't think the 870 would be visibly better than the 750 but it is, I put prints side by side and the 870 is perfect. As for Computer Shopper, its a good publication but they have certainly given some so-so products better reviews than they deserve. I'd take their advice with a grain of salt but worth reading anyway.
