Team selection issues v Everton : 'Yin crocked?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

According to the Journal this morning DF had to leave training early yesterday, limping off to the dressing rooms. They indicate a veil of secrecy was thrown around his condition and availability for tomorrow.

Was anyone at the Riverside yesterday and able to advise the accuracy of this report? I wonder whether it's all a bit of kidology for Toffee consumption?

Has he played against them yet, I don't think he wants to play them.

Interesting point Tony. I'm fairly sure he hasn't played against them so far.

I wonder where his great affection for them stems from? I believe they signed him while his court case for assault was pending, and then stood by him while he served his porridge. It must have been a very difficult time for him, and it must have been important that his Club stood by him.

Hope his head's 'right' tomorrow, if he plays.

Although wor Dunc does have a soft spot for Everton, I can only think of him wanting to stick it to them tomorrow after the way they sold him. It was a very underhand way to treat one of Everton fans' all time heroes.

The Ronnie is playing more on his desire to play against Everton, with only a brief mention of his limping out. Also Harper has been hit by the flu bug, and 'Elvis' Speed and some of the backroom staff are forming a geeetar band to back up Solano and his magic trumpet. Perhaps an ingenious new motivation to get the lads out to training. "Train hard, or we'll play for you." ;-))

Training ground report just posted. Dunc was training on his own and not taking part in the practice game. Fingers crossed he will be OK for tomorrow.

PS Screacher, if you find the team ask them if they've got any spare semi-final tickets......;-))

Might also want to let them know you don't intend to pay with Monopoly money. ;-)))
