Are you trash?

So, are you trash? Do you watch wrestling religously? Is your idea of fine dining Denny's?

Or are you one of the types who understands what to do with all those forks? (If you are, would you please explain that?)

I'll answer both questions in one phrase...."if ya' smell....what there cooking at denny's." 'nuff said. It's easier not to be great

Denny's. Denny's! Oh, c'mon.

I've had breakfasts in Denny's long ago (not bad a bad deal, eggs and toast and stuff) but last month I actually ate dinner in one. Hey, it was right next to the hotel where I was staying... I should have driven down the highway... Ask the waitress what kind of beer they have... Bud, Bud Lite, Michelob Lite. She must have caught the look of horror on my face 'cause she added "We don't have none of them imported beers." Oh well, the food was filling, not especially tasty, but filling.

But I'm not really big on the kind of utra fancy snobby places you described, Meghan (very funny description, by the way)... I like a local place, The Mews Tavern (Main St., Wakefield, R.I.)... it's sort of a TGIFriday's level place, but it's real, not corporate designed... has 69 different beers available plus extensive scotch, tequilla and coffee menus... Good pub food... mostly grilled chicken breasts, various hamburger combos, fish and chips, hot wings, gourmet brickoven pizza... very busy, very crowded seven days a week... the wait staff wears t-shirts that say "Cheap Beer Sucks"... Not the place where "everybody knows your name" but a place where we will probably see people we know...

Gee, I used to love wrestling on tv when I was a kid... and I have taken all of my kids to arenas to see wrestling... And I have enjoyed going to lowbrow stuff like auto stunt thrill shows and demolition derbies. *grin* However, I'm afraid that I have also enjoyed going to the opera and to chamber music concerts.

As for the forks... start at the outside (furthest from your plate) and work your way inward towards the plate... if the table has been set properly, you will be using the correct fork for that part of the meal. (That's an advantage of food like pizza or buffalo hot wings: you can just pick it up with your fingers. Yeah, yeah, I know, the British use knife and fork with pizza, very strange eating pizza in England!)

I guess I'm part trash. It's just like me to want it both ways...

I don't like professional wrestling *at all.* I suppose that's somewhat nullified by my watching NASCAR racing if no other racing is on during the weekend. Or does that make me part hick?

Now Denny's! I like that place. Mmmmm, Buffalo Chicken Burger... Now that's tasty. And where else can I go if I want breakfast at any time of the day. Ixnay the wrestling, but ropspay to Dennys!

I don't think that makes any of us trash though. Certainly two likes cannot define us entirely.

Trash, hash and clash !

Denny's is one place where they have a seniors menu for those of who can't be active enough to require a big meal and came up through the depression where not cleaning your plate was an offense guaranteeing the death penalty.

I don't think those with a refined palate should call those of us who like chili and burgers trash !
