I have just purchsaed a QV 8000 its zooming abilities but do not know how to use the 2x-4x-8x to 32x zoom.My manual and here at IR I have read matrix concerning the zoom but no where can I find information on how to do these adjustments. My manual and here only tells you what they do. I a new at digital cams and for that matter any photography of any sort. Could anyone here please tell me of a link or direct me to information I could learn how to make these adjustments.Ido not know the difference between optical or digital. Manual says by combining both you can get up to 32x what ever that means. But still no explanation on how. Would appreciate any help. Thank you. Ralph

With the default camera setup, holding the zoom rocker switch to T will move the lens to maximum zoom (8x). Releasing and pressing it again will advance to 2x digital zoom (8x*2x=16x) and a cube with "2x" written below will appear at the top-left on the LCD. Pressing to T again will advance to 4x digital zoom (8x*4x=32x).

This method can be customised to some extent in the camera setup menues.

BTW, the digital zoom modes will only capture a 640x480 resolution image, and are _extremely_ sensitive to movement. I have found, however, that with the remote and a still subject, the zoom works remarkably well.

In any event, I'll be getting a 5x monocular for my camera, rather than using the digital zoom.
