Nikon- bulb exposure

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have heard there is a new exposure- bulb exposure, in the 990. How long will this allow a picture to be exposed? Is there any other way to take long exposures but also to compensate for the limited aperture settings of the camera? I am interested in taking macro nature shots, such as wildflowers, but when I try taking long exposures, am limited by the aperture in how long I can expose them before the shot burns out.

Bulb will be available up to 1 minute in Manual mode.

The aperture is 2.5-11 (Wide-Tele) and will close down a lot. You can use a Neutral Density filter(s) to lessen the light coming into the camera.
