Why is red eye such a problem with Nikon 950

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

The occurance and serverity of red eye when using the internal flash on my Nikon 950 is far greater than anything I have experienced with other cameras. Does anyone know of an accessory "baffle" for the flash that can be purchased. Also, can anybody speak to their experience with red eye on this camera when used with the accessory bracket and a dedicated Nikon flash (ie. SB-22, SB28, etc.) Thanks

The flash is very close to the lens-and therefore lights up the back of the eye-resulting in red eye from light shining back almost directly to the center of the lens. Use the red-eye reduction on camera.

When used with the accessory bracket red eye is much less of an issue (as long as the internal flash is off).
