NIKON why so much lateral color in Coolpix lenses?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

The Nikon SLR lenses have been so great for so many years. Hence we are a little disappointed and surprised to find that the Coolpix 9X's consistently producing color fringes at the edges of their photos, more so than Canon or Sony for example. Any plans to reduce this in production models of the 990, or future models?

I have seen that at some times-depending on aperture-and sorry this is not meant as a "hostile witness" answer-but I have seen similar results on the products you mention-and less overall resolution on those products the Compareometer(tm) here on imaging resource.

Rest assured the Coolpix 990 has the best lens of any consumer digital camera to date.
