NIKON: 990's burst rate and Quicktime

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I'm currious what the 990's full size burst rate is going to be, and for how many frames. I've seen it written as 2 fps, but the Imaging resource testing on a preproduction cam was barely 1fps (not much of a burst against the 3030's claim of 3 fps). What will be the final burst rate and will it be any faster or allow more frames in 3:2 mode (in which I plan to shoot most of the time).

Also in the movie mode is it possible to shoot movies while a previous clip is being processed, assuming the buffer isn't totally filled, or must one wait for it to be cleaned from the buffer? Thanks.

Okay-

"Is that your final answer?"

1.5 FPS in full resolution mode (Fine or Normal compression). The prototype Dave has is limited. The original spec of 2 was incorrect and has been updated on the latest spec sheets (not sure about the web site as of yet).

The 3:2 should be identical to the full res rate.

When in movie mode you must wait for the buffer to clear.
