NEWCASTLE are lining up a pre-season friendly in the United States against Major League Soccer outfit Washington DC United.

Newcastle officials are due to meet DC United president and general manager Kevin Payne next week to finalise arrangements for the prestigious game, which will be played on either July 22 or 23 at the RFK Stadium.

DC United yesterday welcomed Bulgarian legend Hristo Stoichkov as their latest signing.
