Protective Mark

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

Has anybody else noticed how wonderfully protective and sweet Mark has been to Carol this season? (Makes me wonder if Doug has anything to do with this...?) It's so great to see a long-standing male/female relationship that is nothing more than a close friendship, something that seems unique compared to the others on the show.

Yeah, they actually act like grown ups. As I write this, I'm struggling to remember how they were before Doug and Carol became involved. Did they hang out together much? I vaguely remember the discussion between Mark and Carol regarding Susan, where Carol emphatically says "You have to tell her" but other than that I can't think of a personal conversation they had. Nice to see the growth. How weird it must have been for Mark to deliver one of her babies.

I agree, I LOVED seeing Mark help her through her delivery, maybe even more than I would have enjoyed seeing Doug there. Two months before the episode aired I delivered a baby without the father there, and I know that Mark said and did all the right things. One of the things I will miss most about Carol is her interaction with him.

I hated all that mushy crap from Doug and Carol. It is so much better this year and I can't wait until Carol leaves. Am I the only one who does not like her character?

I tend to ONLY like the sentimental stuff. To me, a show/movie is only excellent in my book if they make me cry. And Carol was always the one to make me do so. (aside from a select few patients over the years)
