The most common problem of people getting a black screen when capturing with a screen cap utility is hardware acelaration is turned on in your windows control panel. Turn down the hardware acelaration in control panel and use a screen cap like snagit to capture. When you are done turn it back up (on).

I'm not sure what Crazy Cow was referring to but I do know that turning off "optimized video display" will allow you to capture real media - at least the video part of it. For sound you can try using radio ripper to capture audio to wav, then remux..... fyi, both of these will work but I haven't been able to create output of sufficient quality to warrant the effort. Good Luck and if you find anything that works, pls fill me in.

ra2wav is a program that converts real audio to wav. Search in Yahoo for it. It is hard to find but out there. Real.com has tried to have it yanked! Haven't found anything for video except a screen/vid capture snagit.

So far the only tool that have worked for me is this program call Tinra. http://www.divx-digest.com/software/tinra.html. Also down load the GUI for it from http://www.divx-digest.com/software/tinra_gui.html unzip all the files into the same folder and run the GUI. So far It can work in win98 and I am still searching for a tool that can do it in win2000.

cheers

do a search on "google" for "tinragui v1.4". you must have "real player/jukebox on your pc but not the new "realone player" it won't work with this, mustbe older version. you will find the user- interface easy to follow.
