greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

A few weeks ago on the old BBS I mentioned the name of Wilfred Bouma, after watching Van Nistelrooy and PSV on television. Bouma was the player who really stood out to me in this game, even though both Nilis and Van Nistelrooy both had good games. Mutch of the attacks came down the left flanks through Bouma.

Anyway one of the internet sites I often trawl is; footballtransfers.co.uk As a football site it has a lot to offer.

One of the features is the "Future Stars" section, where fans can email the site with nominations about young players comming through their clubs. Dyer and Gavilan are the two players touted from Newcastle. Maybe Softie and Rik should get on there about Domi, Hughes, Chopra and any of the other bairns, so we have a list to rival Liverpool, Manchester, Westham and SUNDERLAND!!! *Oh and it's amazing the number of Scandanavians who visit the site as our two bairns were nominated by people in Denmark and Norway, oh and Marc Drummond from Chester-le-St, Durham. Anyway back to Bouma. He is a 22 year old left winger (no we don't need one of them!), but has played left full back and even striker when Nistelrooy was injured, scoring twice. On the site he has three people, one from London, praising the kid, and not many younguns get three nominations.

Oh well, I'm off to nominate Domi, and email Bobby about Bouma. Well one of the two.

Oh and something else from the site that is interesting.

Nils-Eric Johanson, central defender and Sweden U.21 captain can move on a free Bosman this summer from Bayern Munich.

I don't know the reason why, but Bayern haven't renewed his contract. But he is considered one of the top young central defenders in Europe.

Toon has a fantastic young keeper coming through. I'm going to nominate him but I'm worried that Taggart or Graham or Vialli might be alerted and steal him with a #5m bid. Yes, Perez is a young star we should attempt to keep at all costs.

Never mind, I don't want to hold the lad back - I'll nominate him anyway. (-;

Re the Swedish lad - are under 21 players free at the end of their contract under Bosman? I thought you still had to pay a fee decided by tribunal or agreed between clubs for them if they are under 24. Or is that just if the player swops between clubs in the same country.

How about Atletico madrid Hugo Leal??? Robson seems to have been looking for around the Spanish league, the place where he was well known during his Barcelona's time. Guardiola and Hugo Leal...I would prefer to have Guardiola...

Jacko re: Nils-Eric Johanson

The lad has spent the last two seasons at Bayern Munich, where he transfered to from AIK Stolkholm. So he won't be subject to a transfer fee.

At the moment both AIK and Bordeaux are after him, but he hasn't yet signed a pre-contract agreement.

Two things from here today.

First they reckon that Inter Milan are after Domi. Second they think a swap or partial swap with Oxford might be on the cards with Coppinger and Powell the two players mentioned.

Oh and if the site people ever get round to updating their "future stars" section and they accept all the bairns i've nominated we should have G. Cladwell, Kerr, Green, Chopra, Amoebi, Domi, Hughes and Griffin, joining Gavilan and Dyer. Hope that scares the Makems.
