Are you a lemming?

Are you a lemming? Are you in love with the boy-bands? Are you on the "I-Hate-Micro$oft" bandwagon? Do you want to marry a lounge singer who has bad hair, wears fake gold chains, has a gut and wears all white suits on a daily basis?

As much as I try not too,I cannot get that damn "Bye bye bye" song out of my head!I love it and I actually love the video!I am 28 years old and am not proud of myself for admitting that I loved almost all of Brittney Spears songs, most of the Backstreet Boys stuff and I think J.C. from NSYNC is a hottie!I can do without Hanson though. When I see the boybands on MTV,the audience looks like it's a bunch of 12 year olds!!Oh and the singer from 98 degrees!!!!!!!Be still my heart! They all have talent is the hardest thing to admit! When they all hit the scene I thought that they were all flashes in the pan and didn't Want to like them but, dammit,I do!MY NAME IS STACY,I AM 28 YEARS OLD,MARRIED FOR 8 YEARS,WITH 2 SMALL CHILDREN,AND I LOVE THE TEENY BOPPER STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!There, that feels better!

Yeah, I'm probably a lemming. I've been in love with boy-bands since the Cars first came on the scene. I flipped out over the first "Chant" CD (made by some Spanish monks). Then the Pet Shop Boys melted my heart. Then Erasure. And O my GOD, don't let me forget Jimmy Sommerville. But that was years ago. Now I've discovered the Backstreet Boys (in late 1999). And Ricky Martin. But my current favorite song of all time is "No Matter What" by Boyzone (it's the ULTIMATE love song, appearing on an import 3-song CD, and I never hear it on the radio, but I think the song can be found on some recent movie soundtrack).

Of course, I still sing along to the soundtrack from "Starlight Express" fairly often, and I still play Stevie Nicks' "Belladonna" album quite a bit. And ZZ Top's "Eliminator". And Van Halen's "1984". And "Swamp Thing" by Grid.

I just love music, that's all. Patsy Cline is great to clean house to, and 1950s Doo-Wop is great to wash the car to, and I could go on forever but I'll stop now and give someone else a chance.

I've been thinking about this question. I like a lot more 'popular' music now than I ever did while I was in school. You know why? There are two kinds of lemmings. Those that follow all the trends because they want to be in, and those that shun all the trends because they want to be in.

Now I just do whatever the hell I want. If you don't like it, too bad. So I bought a Spice Girls CD. How's that for defiance? :-)
