Don't worry. It seems as though there's filler to keep the empty times interesting, and you have to admit some of the threads are highly entertaining. The important thing is that there seems to be a "hard core" nucleus who monitors events, and an equally hard core group of lurkers who pick up on items of interest. What's going on is too complex a phnomenon to force into any sort of format, just let it ride. what we don't get, GICC or the EZ Board will, and it'll all hang together.

I remember

May I jog your memory a tad? Back in the "old days" every topic under the sun and sometimes in it was brought up...sometimes to be discussed avidly, sometimes to be dropped like a hot potato. What do you see as being so different now? Or are you remembering back only as far as rollover?

I got on the old forum late in l998, or early 99, and as someone said, everything under the sun was discussed; that's why I liked it.

Now Y2K is old hat. Yes there are glitches. But yes, the lights are on, and I'm typing. This is a rare, uncensored forum, and it's great.

It would seem that Y2K as a cataclysmic or life altering event is dead, there are glitches but are they significant enough to impact the economy or supply lines? This is speculative at best and better speculated on by those with the time and expertise to do so.

Y2k has been debated by the worlds best and brightest and what were the revalations?IMHO, notta.The decision to prepare or not to prepare could have been decided with a coin toss,for all the "decisive" information gleaned from the gurus.

Kinda seems like the old Byrds song "Turn,Turn,Turn",for everything there is a season and the Y2k season is or nearly is over.Other important issues still exist and will continue to be the focus of thinking people on this forum and others,the topics will change as do the seasons.

I love the wide spectrum of topics,thoughts and opinions that exist and that used to exist on this forum,from Joe 6pk to the esoteric,from common sense to the intellectual discourse.I know of no other place where such variety abounds,Thanks OTBFR !!!
