I write for a feature magazine and use an Oly 340-L for pics. This morning I looked at the pics in the LCD, everything worked fine. When I tried to download them onto my computer directly from the camera, it stopped at two and I got a Media card error (icon with "!" in it) along with another card icon with a cross beneath it. I tried it in Flashpath to no avail. Are these pics gone? Tech support does not know how a card can just crash like that and she sadi it may need to be reformatted... But I need those pictures!

Given that you have a FlashPath, you might try a data-recovery program for the PC on it. DON'T use a setting that will attempt to modify the "drive" just instruct it to copy what it can onto another disk (your hard disk). I'm not a PC guy (Mac weenie), so don't know what program to suggest, but I think the Norton Utilities for the PC have a data- recovery program included with them... Good luck!
